Cyani Flower for puffy eyes and dark circles

The most common use of Cyani Flower (aka cornflower), perhaps by far, is to reduce swelling around the eyes, and also to reduce dark circles in the same area.  These are the reasons why Cyani went mainstream in the first place.  In fact, Cornflower was quickly found not just to treat dark circles under the eyes, but also to prevent them from forming in the first place!  Cyani also seems to smooth the skin around the eye area and make it look rejuvenated. Cyani is definitely something to try if you tend to develop  tired, red, and puffy eyes.

For this use, only the blue petals are used from Cyani.  If there are white or pinkish petals, they are discarded even before the flower is dried.  Then the two most common ways to use Cyani on the eye area are:

  • Cyani leaves that have been dried and made into a powder are added to boiling water (apprx 20-1 ratio).  Then dip a towel into the substance after it cools and apply it to your face.
  • Steam the whole Cyani flower for 15 minutes, ideally over water that has some Corflower in it.  Let it cool just a little, but while its still steaming let the steam hit your eyes – carefully so you don;t get burned.

These are the most common uses of Cornflower and the most common way to prepare it.  We will also cover other methods and other uses of this valuable herbal remedy and supplement.
